Locals: Patient Interview

Where can we find your music?

I have produced a few tracks for my own use and I’m not someone who has his social platforms updated regularly, but I have a SoundCloud channel  I am going to try to start inputting some more music-related posts in the future, but at the moment I’m lacking positive energy until we can dance all together again.

Who are you? How old are you?

Hi, I am Matthew Bugeja and I am 27 years old

What is your stage name?

Patient

How many months/ years have you been Djing / producing?

Since we started doing teen parties back in the secondary school days, 13 years ago.

Why do you want to share your music?

I always had a vision of how I prefer the journey of a set. When I’m djing, I always try and get nearer to what I feel is best. Music will get all kinds of people to interact and have a good time together, so sharing music is like sharing love in a different manner.

Mention an artist that inspired you to become a DJ/producer?

In my childhood days Tijs Michiel Verwest (Tiesto) was the man for me. He was the DJ that inspired me and obviously I respect him for what he did in the trance era. To this day, when I am listening to new tracks, or when I play, I still compare some sounds in the back of my head.

Is there a local artist that you look up to and love to see play at events?

Our local scene is full of talent, and I have had the opportunity to share the decks with a lot of these great artists someplace or another. I have shared my time and experiences in djing with Chris (Muski) most, but the first local artist to inspire me from when the switch to Techno occurred some 9 years ago, was Chris Pace (Manthrax). We cannot forget Gordon (Flash) who I got to know personally about 5 years ago and have been sharing special moments together with the rest of us in.di.go crew since. He’s one of the pioneers of the local scene and have been djing for more than 25 years, but his passion is always getting bigger, and that’s something to admire.
