My name is Nikolai aka 4squared and I am 27 years old
How many months/ years have you been Djing / producing?
I have been Djing and Producing since 2012 for a total of 10 years
Mention an artist that inspired you to become a DJ/producer?
Ben Klock definitely has been one of the most inspiring for me
Is there a local artist that you look up to and love to see play at events?
Thankfully we are graced with a lot of exceptional local artists but one of my favourites would be Kontal as I have been following him for a very long time
What skills do you think DJs need to be successful?
Knowing how to read a crowd and can be quick to adapt to the moment and also attention to small details when it comes to mixing, discovering new music, preparing tracks whilst also having an open mind to various Genres and Techniques and make the most out of what you learn. These skills go hand in hand to have the perfect DJ.
How do you stay up to date with the latest music trends?
Social Media has become a big part of it where I would follow fellow DJs and Producers and also Record Labels and respectively also through various music platforms such as Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Bandcamp etc.
What would you say is the most rewarding part of being a DJ?
